For the Global Financing Pact Summit, which is being held in Paris under the auspices of President Emmanuel Macron, President Bola Tinubu has landed in France.
Tinubu’s official Gulfstream jet took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport’s Presidential Wing at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The purpose of the two-day summit, which is set for June 22 and 23, is to bring together world leaders who will evaluate and adopt a deal with broad consequences.
President Tinubu was cordially welcomed by representatives of both France and Nigeria upon his arrival.
Meanwhile, in Paris, President Tinubu will “participate, review and sign a New Global Financial Pact that places vulnerable countries on a priority list for support and investment,” said the Special Adviser for Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Dele Alake.
This pact aims to address the harsh consequences of climate change, the energy crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic’s aftermath.
The summit’s participants, especially those from the most indebted countries, will focus on reestablishing fiscal stability in nations that are now facing financial difficulties.
Additionally, they will aim to mobilize creative funding for nations at risk from climate change, promote growth in low-income countries, and promote investment in environmentally friendly infrastructure in developing economies.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in poverty rates, President Tinubu will address holistic economic recovery strategies with global leaders and financial experts, according to Alake.
