President Bola Tinubu has appointed Omolola Oloworaran as the director-general (DG) of the National Pension Commission (PenCom) and Oluwaseun Faleye as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
In a statement on Saturday, Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, announced that Oloworaran’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation. Describing her as a finance and banking expert with extensive experience, Ngelale stated, “The President anticipates a goal-oriented leadership to drive efficiency and superlative performance in the National Pension Commission as the prime regulator of the Nigerian Pension Industry.”
In a separate statement, Ngelale announced Faleye’s appointment, highlighting his expertise as a legal and corporate finance specialist.
Additionally, Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay has been appointed as the executive director (operations) of the NSITF. Ngelale noted her background as a former lawmaker and former Chairperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation.
Ngelale conveyed President Tinubu’s expectations for the new appointments, stating, “The president anticipates a comprehensive re-positioning of the NSITF for enhanced social protection and qualitative service delivery to Nigerians.”
