President Tinubu Highlights Nigeria’s Investment Potential to ENI Delegation, Tinubu expressed his administration’s commitment to transforming Nigeria into a prime investment destination during a meeting with a delegation from ENI, an international energy company, led by CEO Claudio Descalzi in Abuja.
In a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Tinubu outlined his administration’s vision for strategic planning and innovative thinking to attract global investments.
“We aim to leverage new technology, strategic planning, and research into best practices to reposition our nation’s economy,” Tinubu said. He emphasized that these reforms are designed to benefit both investors and Nigerians alike.
“We must continue to lead in these reforms and create opportunities for investment. The basket is growing, and so are the participants,” Tinubu stated. “Despite challenges in fossil fuels, advancements in science and technology are paving the way for new opportunities.”
He encouraged ENI to put a timeline on their investment strategy, noting, “It will serve as a stimulant for global investors when you set a clear timeline.”
President Tinubu also praised ENI for its longstanding confidence in Nigeria and its diversification into sectors like agriculture. “ENI, we welcome your team again. Claudio, it is an honour to have you back in Nigeria, your second home,” Tinubu said. “Nigeria has made significant progress, and your acknowledgment of our ongoing changes affirms our long-term investment vision.
He highlighted the importance of adapting to global strategies and reforms, stating, “We cannot grow today’s seed with yesterday’s belief system. Continuous intellectual curiosity and reform are essential. We appreciate your efforts and believe in our partnership for sustainable development. Africa is not begging but is ready to compete globally.”
President Tinubu concluded by expressing Nigeria’s readiness to collaborate on infrastructural development and innovative research, particularly in making arable land available for agriculture. “We are open, ready, and working diligently to partner with you in every aspect,” he affirmed.
