While addressing the electorate in Kogi State, the former Governor of Anambra State charged them to collect money from people attempting to induce them, but to vote against them. He went on to say that voters should tell such politicians that they are tired of being in the wilderness.
Obi said, “If they bring money, collect their money but vote against them at the polls. Tell them we want to follow those who know the road. Tell them that you are tired of being in the wilderness.”
He also said, “The steel industry is very important to the development of the economy. Therefore, we will liaise with professionals and experts who know what to do with the Ajaokuta steel company immediately after we are sworn in.”
Meanwhile, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on Digital communication, Bashir Ahmad, has mocked the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over the campaign rally in Kogi State, on Tuesday.
Reacting to some of the photos which emerged online, Bashir noted that the unsuccessful rally was a confirmation that Nigerian voters have completely rejected the former Governor of Anambra State.
He further described the rally as an embarrassing turnout adding that the event can be mistaken for a local naming ceremony.
He wrote: “The Labour Party presidential campaign rally in Kogi was a confirmation that Nigerian voters have completely rejected the Party and its candidate even before the polls. An embarrassing turnout, the stadium was sparsely populated, as if a local naming ceremony was taking place.”
