The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna has called on Governor Uba Sani to engage anti-graft agencies to investigate and prosecute his predecessor, Nasir el-Rufai.
Abraham Catoh, the PDP spokesperson, in a statement yesterday in Kaduna, praised the ad hoc committee of the Kaduna House of Assembly for its report recommending an investigation into el-Rufai’s tenure from 2015 to 2023. The committee accused el-Rufai of diverting public funds and money laundering, stating that loans obtained during his administration were misused.
Yusuf Liman, speaker of the Kaduna Assembly, emphasized the need for law enforcement intervention, alleging that el-Rufai breached his oath of office and plunged the state into excessive debt without due process. El-Rufai has dismissed the allegations, claiming they are politically motivated.
