PDP Postpones Edo Campaign Launch Due to Nationwide Strike

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has indefinitely postponed the inauguration of the Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council, originally set for Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba announced in Abuja that the delay is due to the ongoing industrial action by Labour Unions. A new date will be announced later.
Ologunagba urged all campaign council members, party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters to continue their efforts towards the success of the party and its governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the September 21, 2024, election in Edo State.
The strike, declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), has severely disrupted government and private sector operations in Abuja, with nearly total compliance across ministries, departments, and agencies.
