The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed rumours of merger negotiations with other political parties.
In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba after the PDP National Working Committee’s 587th meeting in Abuja, the party asserted its capability to win elections independently.
Ologunagba emphasized that while the PDP welcomes returning members, it is not involved in any merger discussions. He highlighted the ongoing membership drive’s success, indicating the PDP’s popularity among Nigerians.
The statement urged the public, party members, and the international community to disregard any reports of a merger, referencing recent speculations following a meeting between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and other PDP leaders.
