The Oyo State Government has commenced bursary payments to indigene students studying Law, Medicine, and Aviation, as well as final-year students in universities and polytechnics across Nigeria.
In a statement on Saturday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, said the initiative aims to support students who meet the required criteria.
“The beneficiaries, numbering about 2,950, were selected from a pool of approximately 3,000 applicants. Out of these, around 105 are medical and clinical students, while four are maritime and aviation students. The remaining beneficiaries are final-year students in polytechnics and universities,” Olanrewaju stated.
He further revealed that Governor Seyi Makinde had approved N554.9 million for the bursary awards.
