Osun governorship: Supreme Court Set Up 5-man Panel To Hear Election Appeal

Supreme Court Set Up 5-man Panel To Hear Election Appe
The panel to hear the appeal for the July 16, 2022, Osun State governorship election has been set up by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
This was contained in a document that was signed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola.
Justice John Inyang Okoro, Justice Lawal Garba, Justice Adamu Jauro, Justice Tijjani Abubakar, and Justice Emmanuel Agim make up the panel, according to WesternPost.
It was reported that the Osun Guber election appeal would be heard by the Supreme Court on Monday.
Recall that Gboyega Oyetola, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress, (APC) had approached the election petition tribunal after Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was announced the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
Adeleke received 403,371 votes, winning 17 of the state’s 30 local government areas.
The tribunal had, on January 27, voided the July 16, 2022, election that produced Adeleke of the PDP as the elected governor.
The appeals court, however, overruled that decision on March 24, declaring that Adeleke had won the election.
