Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has declared a three-day mourning period and prayer session from January 5 to 7 in honor of the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Temitayo Oluwatuyi.
The announcement was made during Aiyedatiwa’s condolence visit to the widow and family of the deceased in Akure. Accompanied by members of the State Executive Council, the governor described Oluwatuyi as a key figure in Ondo State’s governance and politics.
Oluwatuyi, popularly known as “Tukana,” passed away on Saturday while receiving treatment after a car accident on December 17 during a trip from Akure to Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking on his contributions, Aiyedatiwa said, “Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi lived a fulfilled life and made positive impacts on many people. The history of Ondo State would not be complete without mentioning his significant contributions.”
The late SSG was praised for his humility and gentlemanly conduct in both public and private life. The three-day mourning period will allow Ondo State to honor the legacy of Oluwatuyi, whose contributions left an indelible mark on the state’s development.
