The Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has restated that former governor and serving senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, is no longer a recognised member of the party, insisting that his suspension remains fully in effect.
In a letter to the APC National Chairman, the state leadership declared that “all political or official dealings with Senator Daniel as an APC member are invalid.”
The reaffirmation was disclosed in a statement released in Abeokuta by Lekan Adeniran, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun. The letter, dated October 3, 2025, was jointly signed by the State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and State Secretary, Hon. Tella Aderibigbe.
According to Ogun APC, Daniel was formally suspended on August 19, 2025, and the decision was duly communicated to him. Citing Article 21 (vii) of the APC Constitution, the party emphasised that a suspended member immediately loses all privileges including voting rights, attendance at party meetings, and participation in party activities.
“As part of the disciplinary processes outlined in our constitution, a member suspended pending investigation is expressly barred from participating in the proceedings of any party organ,” the letter noted.
The party also warned government officials, political associates, and the public against recognising Daniel as an APC member until the suspension is lifted.
“Any and all dealings with Otunba Olugbenga Daniel in the capacity of a bona fide member of the APC are invalid, unrecognised, and of no effect to the party,” the statement added.
The Ogun APC leadership said the reaffirmation underscores its resolve to enforce discipline and uphold the integrity of the party’s constitution.
