Former President Olusegun Obasanjo urged governors to focus on food security and policies enhancing people’s well-being during the inauguration of 136 housing units in Sokoto, acquired by the state government for N1.8 billion.
Obasanjo praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his leadership in transportation, agriculture, and housing within his first year.
Aliyu highlighted his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises through projects in road construction, empowerment, water supply, and healthcare. He emphasized ongoing development efforts to provide state-of-the-art facilities, including schools, markets, and playgrounds.
Aliyu noted that the houses were acquired from the Federal Government for residents on an owner-occupier basis to address the growing need for shelter in the state.
