They demanded that her efforts to improve the lives of Nigerians, particularly women and children, be recognized.
They commended her for her humanitarian effort via a very significant pro-women and children’s project through Mr. Simon Bako Lalong, chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum and governor of Plateau State.
The governors added in a congratulatory message sent by Dr. Simon Makut Macham, Lalong’s director of press and public affairs, that Mrs. Buhari has stayed persistent and devoted in starting various programs that have had a direct impact on society’s most vulnerable individuals throughout the years.
Lalong said the first lady’s pet project, the Future Assured Programme, has done a lot in empowering women and youths in all parts of the country as well as carried out humanitarian interventions to victims of crises and other natural disasters.
Governor Lalong also praised the first lady for supporting the Northern Governors Forum in its efforts to address the Almajiri phenomenon, poverty, diseases, and humanitarian needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) across the region and the nation at large.
He commended the first lady’s leadership and mentoring abilities, which have resonated with the first ladies of many states through their pet programs, which are having an equivalent influence on residents’ well-being.
The forum wished Mrs. Buhari good health, God’s protection, and wisdom as she continues to advocate for the poor and vulnerable members of society.
