The Federal Government of Nigeria, led by President Muhammadu Buhari, has filed fresh terrorist charges against Nnamdi Kanu, the incarcerated leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
According to Naija News, the Federal Government filed the modified proceedings before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.
The government upped the number of charges in the original complaint filed against Nnamdi Kanu.
The IPOB leader, who was facing a seven-count treasonable felony charge, will now start a fresh plea to a 15-count amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015 and signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, M. B. Abubakar.
The charge was modified by the FG just 24 hours before the scheduled commencement of the hearing by trial Justice Binta Nyako.
The court had on December 2, fixed 18, 19, and 20 January to hear some pending applications, including the one Kanu filed to be discharged and acquitted.
