Nigeria Boasts World’s Best Civil Service, Claims Head of Service

Folasade Yemi-Esan, the head of the civil service of the federation, has confidently stated that Nigeria possesses the best civil service in the world.
According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Yemi-Esan made this assertion on Saturday in Abuja during a sporting event organized for workers as part of the 2024 civil service week celebrations.
Yemi-Esan highlighted the intelligence and health consciousness of Nigerian civil servants, noting their importance in enhancing productivity.
“I am always proud of civil and public servants because Nigeria has the best civil service in the world, and I can say that confidently anywhere,” she declared.
Reflecting on the growth in participation in such events, she remarked, “Three or four years ago, we only had a handful of civil servants participating, and today, the numbers have increased tremendously. Thank you for a very good turnout today.”
Emphasizing the importance of health and well-being, Yemi-Esan encouraged civil servants to take their fitness seriously. “If we are not healthy, we can’t give the country the best that we have. This exercise is very important for us to be productive and to give our very best. Our body system must be healthy enough,” she stated.
She also urged civil servants to utilize the government-funded wellness center. “Apart from today’s sporting exercise, always ensure to visit our wellness center to exercise yourself. I am sure a lot of civil servants don’t even know where the center is. Some people are taking advantage of the center, some are not.”
Yemi-Esan concluded by emphasizing the government’s investment in the wellness center, aimed at ensuring civil servants maintain good health and a sound mind.
