More Opposition Members Will Join APC — Gov. Uzodimma

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has expressed confidence that more opposition politicians will soon defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Saturday after a meeting with political stakeholders from Delta State, Uzodimma said the momentum was clearly shifting in favor of the ruling party. His remarks follow the recent defection of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, his deputy, former governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and other prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders to the APC.

“You can see the tide is moving, and people are joining. There will be no end to it,” Uzodimma stated. “Our party in Delta is growing from strength to strength. Delta is now almost a one-party state.”

As Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Uzodimma stressed that the APC would rely on its internal structures to properly integrate both old and new members. “We have to meet to manage this very huge success,” he noted, adding that unity among members would be critical to strengthening the party and supporting the government in Delta State.

Describing the wave of defections as “a big testimony,” Uzodimma said it reflected the growing national admiration for the APC.
