Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has confirmed he will leave the club in June, at the end of the current season, ending a remarkable nine-year spell with the Reds.
In an emotional message to fans, Salah said: “Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you! This club will always be my home, to me and to my family. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”
The Egyptian superstar reflected on his journey at Anfield: “I never imagined this club, this city, this people would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club, it’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit. We won the most important trophies. We fought together through the hardest times of our lives. I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time, especially my teammates past and present, and the fans. The support you showed me in the best and toughest times of my career is something I will never forget.”
Salah helped Liverpool win two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two League Cups, and an FA Community Shield during his tenure.
Despite having a contract until June 2027, Liverpool have agreed to allow Salah to leave on a free transfer. His agent, Ramy Abbas, confirmed: “We do not know where Mohamed will play next season. This also means that no one else knows.”
Over his nine years in the Premier League, Salah has achieved numerous records, including:
- Most goals and assists for a single club in Premier League history
- Only player with 10+ goals and 10+ assists in six different seasons
- Fourth all-time Premier League top scorer with 191 goals
- Three-time PFA Players’ Player of the Year
- Joint-most Premier League Player of the Month awards (7)
- First player to reach 10+ goals and 10+ assists before Christmas in a season
- Only player to score a hat-trick against Manchester United at Old Trafford
Salah leaves Liverpool as a true Premier League legend and one of the club’s greatest ever players.
