Mahdi Aliyu Relinquishes His Governorship Ambition

The recently past Zamfara State deputy governor, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu has withdrawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship race.
Aliyu who was recently impeached by the state House of Assembly was the first person to purchase the nomination form under the platform of the PDP to contest for the governorship position in the state.
Newsmen gathered that a few hours before the PDP governorship primary election, the former deputy governor declared his withdrawal from the race. In a statement published by his principal private secretary, Umar Aminu, yesterday, did not give reasons for the decision to withdraw from the contest.
