Lucky Aiyedatiwa Takes Oath As New Governor Of Ondo State

In an official ceremony at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the governor’s office in Akure, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as the new Governor of Ondo State.
The oath of office was administered by the state Chief Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, on Wednesday, following the demise of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Returning to Akure promptly for the swearing-in ceremony, Aiyedatiwa cut short his holiday to assume the gubernatorial responsibilities.
Aiyedatiwa took the oath of allegiance at 5:15 pm, while he took the oath of office at 5:17 pm. And at about 5:19 pm, he signed the Oath Register.
He pledged to prioritize the state’s interests over personal concerns.
He assured that his governance would align with the provisions of the Nigerian constitution, emphasizing a commitment to the welfare of the people of Ondo.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, Secretary to the State Government, Oladunni Odu, state executive council members, Head of Service Pastor Kayode Ogundele, former deputy governors, permanent secretaries, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state Ade Adetimehin, Chief of Staff to the late Akeredolu Olugbenga Ale, party supporters, and others.
