Kwara Governor Swears In New Advisers, Auditor-General, and 7 Perm Secs

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has inaugurated two new special advisers, a state Auditor-General, and seven permanent secretaries in a ceremony held Tuesday at the Government House in Ilorin.

The newly appointed aides include Abdulrazaq Jiddah as Special Adviser on Special Duties and Umulkhaer Alaye as Special Adviser on Civic Engagement. Fatai Alayande was sworn in as the new Auditor-General of the state.

Also inaugurated were seven new permanent secretaries across various ministries:

  • Afolabi Olaitan (Energy)
  • Olufunke Shittu (Service Welfare)
  • Risikat Abdulazeez (Housing and Urban Development)
  • Ayodeji Taoheed (Health)
  • Abu Gana (Works)
  • Salau Abdullahi (Transportation)
  • Yahya Muhammed (Livestock Development)

Speaking during the inauguration, Governor AbdulRazaq urged the appointees to view their roles as a call to serve both God and the people with integrity, fairness, and dedication.

“Your appointment places you in a privileged position to serve God and humanity, to make things better than you meet them, and to contribute to the development of our state through your offices,” he said.
“Please remember that you have been chosen from a population of over three million people. They look up to you as leaders, mentors, and exemplars. Kindly discharge this public trust with fairness to all, humility, and commitment to the highest ethical standards.”

The Secretary to the State Government, Mamman Jubril, also urged the new appointees to embrace diligence and commitment in their duties.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Abdulrazaq Jiddah expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve, assuring that they would uphold the trust placed in them.

The ceremony was witnessed by notable dignitaries, including former House of Representatives member Abdulganiyu Cook-Olododo and the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Abubakar Jos.
