Kwankwaso Denies APC Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to NNPP

Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has firmly denied claims that he is planning to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), calling the reports false and politically mischievous.

Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, Kwankwaso stated:

“I have refrained from commenting on contemporary political events, and I will continue to do so for the time being. I urge the public to only engage statements that come from my public handles and other official sources.”

He stressed that no agreement or statement had been made or authorized regarding any move to dump the NNPP.

The party also reacted through its National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, in a statement released Saturday in Abuja.

“The press statement being circulated did not originate from Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso or the NNPP. It is fake, unfounded, and politically motivated,” Johnson clarified.

He reaffirmed that Kwankwaso is intentionally silent on ongoing political developments and that only verified sources should be trusted for any updates concerning him or the NNPP.

The party urged the public to disregard false narratives and misleading reports, reiterating that official communications would be shared only via verified platforms.
