Kebbi Governor Denies Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has firmly denied claims that he and four other governors are plotting to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a new coalition allegedly spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the governor described the reports as “false, malicious, and a huge joke cracked by the most uninteresting political comedians.”

He dismissed the rumours as baseless, stating, “I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” and vowed never to abandon the party that gave him his political platform.

“The governor enjoys overwhelming support from the people of Kebbi State, who remain staunchly committed to the APC,” the statement read. “He cannot and will not abandon his people to embrace political strangers.”

Governor Idris urged the public to disregard the speculation and emphasized his administration’s commitment to good governance and development in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda.

“Our focus remains on improving the lives of the good people of Kebbi State,” he affirmed.
