Kano Prepares To Launch Economic City Project

The Kano state government has said that the much-awaited multi-million naira Kano Economic City, which started over a decade ago, will finally launch after all the necessary procedures have been formally completed.
When he visited the site of the economic city at Dangwauro in the state’s Kumbotso Local Government Area, Jamilu Umar Bataiya, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the governor of Kano State on business development, disclosed this.
He asserts that the realization of the Kano Economic City has been at the top of the priority lists for the new Kano State administration, which is led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to ensure the restoration of Kano State’s glory in the business sector and all other spheres of human endeavor.
Similarly, in his address while receiving the team, Chairman, Business Development of the project’s developers, Mr Mahmoud that the project handled by Brains and Hammers is at the verge of completing the first phase that will accommodate two giant markets in the state.
He said that despite many obstacles, the developers were able to complete the first phase, which included about 1000 pharmacy shops and about 3000 shops specifically dedicated to information technology (IT) activities in the economic city’s tech hub. He also said that when the economic city is officially launched, the two enormous markets will be moved from the city to the economic city.
