Kano Police Headquarter Ravaged By Rainstorm

The Nigeria Police Kano headquarter was ravaged on Thursday by a severe rainstorm in some areas of Kano State.
It was the city’s second downpour of the year, and it caused millions of Naira’s worth of property damage.
According to reports, the storm began at around 2:30 pm and continued for around 40 minutes before it started to rain.
It was reported that around half of the brand-new roofing sheets of the police headquarters’ main building were blown off, with some of the sheets forcibly falling on top of cars left by officers on-duty.
One of the main gates to the police headquarters was violently wrenched off of its concrete pillar.
Daily Sun confirmed in its report that no life was lost or injury sustained. The storm reportedly also fell several electric poles and cut off wires within the premises, resulting in an immediate cut of power supply and the slowdown of activities at the headquarters.
One of the carpenters employed to clear the mess told journalists that it was wrong to blame the tragedy on the quality of wood used in re-roofing the building by the contractors.
He added that winds gathered inside the building through these openings and blew off the sheets since the doors and windows to the renovated structure had not been fixed.
The tragedy occurs only a few months after a fire that gutted the same headquarters, located in the Bompai area of the state capital, ruined its properties and destroyed over half of its offices.
The majority of the policemen questioned at the headquarters thought the most recent event was unfortunate.
