The Kaduna State Government has adjusted the 24-hour curfew in Kaduna and Zaria metropolitan areas, allowing movement from 8am to 6pm daily starting Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, announced that the decision was made by the state Security Council, led by Governor Uba Sani. Following a comprehensive review of the security situation in Kaduna and Zaria, the council unanimously agreed to modify the curfew initially imposed on Monday, August 4, 2024.
With this new directive, the curfew will now be enforced from 6pm to 8am, permitting citizens to move freely and conduct their daily activities between 8am and 6pm. The curfew will resume each evening at 6pm and continue until 8am the following morning.
The Kaduna State Security Council emphasized its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state. The statement assured that all necessary measures would be taken to preserve order.
Security forces will strictly enforce the curfew from 6pm to 8am and will respond decisively to any actions that threaten to disrupt peace during the allowed movement hours and the curfew period.
