Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna has been honored with the title of Ezi Enyi Ndigbo, meaning “Friend of the Igbo People,” by the Igbo community in the state. The conferment took place during the 2024 Igbo Cultural Day Celebration on Saturday, recognizing Sani’s supportive role toward the Igbo community.
In his address, Sani announced his approval for the allocation of land to build an auto parts market in Kaduna, with documentation pending finalization by the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS). He also shared plans to perform the groundbreaking for the market’s construction and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with Igbo entrepreneurs, describing the Igbo as industrious and resilient contributors to Kaduna’s growth.
“We aim to attract investments across diverse sectors, create jobs, and facilitate technology and skills transfer to make our workforce skilled and employable,” Sani said, highlighting his administration’s vision.
Francis Ani, President-General of the Igbo Community Welfare Association, praised Sani’s achievements over the past 18 months, noting his inclusive governance, peace initiatives, and infrastructural developments across Kaduna. “The communities in Kaduna state are highly impressed with your administration’s strides, including the construction of over 60 rural roads, school renovations, and primary health center upgrades,” Ani stated, affirming that these accomplishments justify Sani’s new title.
The title of Ezi Enyi Ndigbo reflects the Igbo community’s appreciation for Sani’s commitment to fostering harmonious coexistence and development in Kaduna.
