Things had not been going well between him and the actress for the last two years, according to Bello, who confirmed their separation in an Instagram post on Thursday. He said that all attempts to work out their issues had failed.

In the post, which Instablog9ja reposted on Instagram, Bello said that once he confirmed that he had broken up with his wife, she requested that he leave their matrimonial home.

The post read in part, “Dear friends and family, I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted, we shared a lot of things together and have created two beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us.

“I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now. Three months ago and at Funke’s insistence, I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA, have not been able to discuss the future of our relationship.”

The couple who got married on August 23, 2016, welcomed a set of twins two years after.

Efforts made to speak with Akindele did not yield a positive report.
