I’ve No Regrets Working Under Tinubu – Nyesom Wike

Nyesom Wike, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has expressed no regrets about serving under President Bola Tinubu, despite being the sole opposition figure in Tinubu’s cabinet.
Wike, a long-time member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has faced speculation that his ministerial role was a reward for opposing former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar during last year’s election.
At a PDP Congress in Rivers State, Wike voiced his satisfaction with the current administration: “We are fully part of Tinubu’s government. I have no regrets and will continue to be here. If anyone is displeased, they should ‘go and hug the transformer,’” he said.
Wike also took aim at Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his former protégé, and other PDP governors who recently backed Fubara at a meeting in Taraba. He warned those attempting to alter the party’s structure: “Those trying to take the party from us should be cautious. Refusing peace when offered will have consequences. Whether you’re in Bauchi or elsewhere, expect trouble.”
Addressing his critics, Wike added, “I’ve warned them—if the PDP faces challenges, it will be due to their actions, not mine. Let Rivers State handle party matters. We are aware of those switching sides. If they wish to challenge us, they should do so through elections and ignore the insults—they don’t concern us.”
