The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) expressed grave concerns regarding the hostile business environment created by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Retail.
Following an extensive meeting of its national officers, IPMAN highlighted NNPC Retail’s conflicting roles as a competitor, supplier, and regulator, posing significant threats to its members’ businesses.
IPMAN cautioned that the arbitrary refusal of product allocations by NNPC Retail could exacerbate fuel scarcity.
Additionally, IPMAN urged the Federal Government to intervene in the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority’s (NMDPRA) actions, citing unfair tariff increases imposed on its members while exempting NNPC from similar measures.
