The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the Nyesom Wike-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), confirming its newly elected leadership following the party’s National Convention in Abuja.
The update, reflected on INEC’s official website on Monday, formalises the National Working Committee (NWC) returned through a consensus arrangement at the National Stadium Velodrome. Abdulrahman Mohammed now serves as National Chairman, while Samuel Anyanwu holds the position of National Secretary.
The convention marked the dissolution of the party’s National Caretaker Committee and was conducted through a consensus-based process, allowing the recognised faction to officially engage in party and electoral matters.
