Imo Police Arrest Ahmed Gulak Killer

Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have apprehended Anosike Chimobi, 38, who was involved in the murder of Ahmed Gulak, a former political adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The State Police Spokesperson Micheal Abattam announced on Monday that Chimaobi, a resident of Umuedo in the Ahiazu Mbaise council area of the state, had been arrested after a thorough investigation by police officers.

He continued by saying that the suspect will face charges in court after admitting to taking part in the terrorist attack on the onions truck on May 30 at the Enyiogwugwu crossroads in the Aboh Mbaise L.G.A. of Imo State.

The PPRO explained that the suspect was among the “terrorists that murdered Ahmed Gulak on May 30, 2021, along Imo State Airport Road.”

He added that he was involved in the burning of Aboh Mbaise, Ahiazu Mbaise, Ezinihitte Mbaise, Ihitte-Uboma, and Obowo police stations.

Abattam said: “He confessed to involvement in the attack and murder of many police officers and collection of their service rifles. He also confessed to the kidnap of one Jude Nwahiri at Eke Nguru Junction Aboh Mbaise L.G.A, Imo State, under the command of one Ebube Uche Madu aka virus, who is on the command’s wanted list.”
