Imo Election: Labour Party Agent Ihejiagwa Beaten, Thrown Out Of Imo Collation Centre

In Imo State, a Labour Party (LP) agent, Calistus Ihejiagwa, faced physical assault and was thrown out from the Imo State Collation Centre in Owerri on Sunday morning.
Ihejiagwa consistently objected to the collation of results from Local Government Areas, citing discrepancies between the presented results and those on the Result Viewing Portal (IREV).
Expressing his intent to submit a petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ihejiagwa was rebuffed by the Returning Officer, Prof Abayomi Fashina, who maintained that receiving petitions was beyond his responsibility.
A video shared by Channels TV depicted other party agents expressing their dissatisfaction, resorting to physical aggression against Ihejiagwa before forcibly removing him from the collation center.
In a related development, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate in Imo State, Athan Achonu, alleged that party agents were assaulted by thugs during the election.
Achonu urged INEC to invalidate votes in polling units affected by violence, emphasizing the need for cancellation where such incidents occurred.
