The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have expressed their sincere wishes for “health and healing” for Catherine, Princess of Wales, following her revelation of a cancer diagnosis.

In a concise statement, Prince Harry and Meghan conveyed their hope for Catherine and her family to undergo healing “privately and in peace.”

Catherine herself addressed the public on Friday, describing the news as a “huge shock” after enduring an “incredibly tough couple of months.” Despite the challenges, she reassured everyone that she is “well” and “getting stronger every day.”

While specifics about the type of cancer remain undisclosed, Kensington Palace affirms the princess’s confidence in a full recovery.

In January, Catherine underwent abdominal surgery, unaware of any underlying cancer at the time. However, follow-up tests later revealed the presence of cancer.

In January 2020, Harry and Meghan made the decision to step down from their roles as senior royals. Later that June, they relocated to California, citing a desire for space to raise their son, Archie. In the subsequent year, their family welcomed a new addition with the birth of their daughter, Lilibet.

Following his father King Charles’s recent cancer diagnosis, Harry made a brief visit to the UK to spend time with him. However, during the trip, he did not meet with his brother.

In an interview with ABC News afterward, Harry expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be with his father in London during such a challenging time. He also acknowledged that health concerns within families can often bring them closer together.

Earlier on the same day, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre commented on Catherine’s news, describing it as “terrible,” and expressed the administration’s wishes for her full recovery.

“I believe it’s crucial for us to honor their privacy, particularly given the circumstances,” she remarked. “I won’t delve any deeper into the matter.”
