Governor Oborevwori Boosts Delta Security with 31 Operational Vehicles

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reinforced security efforts in the state with the donation of 31 operational vehicles to police and other security agencies. The fleet includes 23 pickup trucks, eight Sienna wagons, and follows an earlier delivery of four Hilux vehicles, bringing the total to 66 vehicles for enhanced patrols and surveillance under the newly rebranded “Operation Delta Sweep.”

Presenting the vehicles to Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Oborevwori emphasized the urgent need for collaborative intelligence-sharing among security agencies to combat rising insecurity nationwide.

The initiative aligns with the governor’s M.O.R.E. agenda, which prioritizes securing Delta, a major oil-producing state in Nigeria. Known for its comparative peace, Delta has maintained stability despite national security challenges.

Oborevwori’s gesture not only addresses the immediate need for improved security logistics but also reaffirms his commitment to sustainable development. “Delta needs peace to thrive, and a secure state benefits both its citizens and the nation,” he said.

Under Operation Delta Sweep, the state aims to counter evolving threats with strategic responses, ensuring safety and economic prosperity for its residents.
