Governor Makinde Declares Half Working Day Ahead of LG Poll 

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared today a half working day for all public and civil servants in the state in preparation for the local government election scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024.
According to a circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Olanike Adeyemo, government offices will close by 12 noon on Friday, with essential services personnel expected to remain at their duty posts. The circular encourages all public and civil servants to participate in exercising their civic rights on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Governor Makinde previously expressed confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) retaining all positions in the Local Government Elections, citing the administration’s unprecedented achievements across the state.
Encouraging the people to vote en masse for all PDP candidates, the governor emphasized that grassroots governance will align with his administration’s commitment to delivering sustainable development.
