Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has swiftly dismissed Adeboye Taofiq Ewenla, his special assistant on forestry for the central senatorial district, effective immediately. This action follows serious allegations of bribery and intimidation raised against Ewenla by timber merchants operating within the state.
A statement from the governor’s press secretary confirmed the dismissal, emphasizing Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to integrity in governance. The governor has also initiated an investigation into the activities of officials responsible for managing the state’s forest reserves and plans to announce a replacement for Ewenla soon. “The Governor urged all political appointees to adhere to the law and conduct themselves in accordance with the rules governing their duties,” the statement noted.
