Governor Adeleke Assures Osun Residents of Security Amid Bandit Threats

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reassured residents of their safety as security concerns rise in neighbouring states, commending service chiefs and security agencies for proactive measures to protect the state.

In a statement, the governor said a series of security meetings have been held over the past three weeks with stakeholders in border communities to prevent the infiltration of bandits. He revealed that the Inspector General of Police, Director General of State Security Service (DSS), Chief of Defence Staff, and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have all given special attention to Osun State, with ongoing strategic deployments across areas of concern.

Governor Adeleke urged residents to remain vigilant, provide credible information, and promptly report any suspicious activity. He also directed the Amotekun security service to collaborate closely with the police and other security agencies to enhance community safety.

On the state’s local government matter, the governor appealed for lawfulness and patience, stressing that the government will not interfere in judicial processes. He also expressed optimism that the judiciary will resolve internal issues promptly.

Highlighting ongoing achievements, Governor Adeleke thanked residents for their support and assured them of continued delivery of good governance and democratic dividends in sectors including education, health, infrastructure, ICT, agriculture, cooperative empowerment, sports development, water, and security.

“Our security agencies are on top of the situation, and residents should not panic. Together, we can strengthen our communities and maintain peace,” the governor said.
