Gov. Oborevwori Urges Public Servants to Uphold Integrity

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has called on public servants to remain dedicated to their duties, emphasizing integrity and perseverance in service to the state and nation.

Speaking on Saturday at the retirement thanksgiving service of Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, held at Grace and Progress Family Church in Asaba, Oborevwori commended Bayoko’s unwavering commitment throughout his 35-year career, including nearly two decades as a Permanent Secretary and Head of Service.

“We are gathered here in gratitude to God Almighty for the remarkable service and well-deserved retirement of my brother, Mr. Reginald Bayoko,” the governor said. He urged younger civil servants to be patient in their career progression, stating, “Some who have served for just 10 years aspire to be like Bayoko. But I say to them wait for your turn, because leadership comes in due time.”

Oborevwori lauded Bayoko’s integrity and mentorship, expressing confidence that his wisdom and passion would continue to impact Delta State even in retirement.

The thanksgiving service was attended by top government officials, including Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor.

In his sermon, Bishop Chuka Agwuegbo urged leaders to remain grateful to God, warning that neglecting divine guidance could lead to setbacks.

Expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve, Bayoko thanked God and past governors, pledging to contribute to the state’s development beyond his years in office.
