Fuel Subsidy: Innoson Unveils Compressed Natural Gas Vehicles

As a result of the escalating cost of fuel, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), has unveiled mass-produced varieties of Compressed Natural Gas buses.
In Nnewi, Anambra State, at the company’s factory, the CNG vehicles were on display.
The vehicles include, trucks, minibuses, ambulances, long buses, and SUVs among others.
Speaking at the unveiling, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, Chief Executive Officer of IVM, informed Nigerians that CNG vehicles are safe and that a variety of cars are available.
He said, “We manufacture according to demand, and we manufactured these buses because there is a demand for them now. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we produced more ambulances, so we are on the ground and ready to produce. CNG vehicles bring a solution to total dependence on one or two kinds of vehicles.
“The CNG vehicles are a solution, that’s why we produce them. We made space for CNG, LNG, and fuel so that anyone available in an area can be used to drive the vehicles. Electric cars, biogas, and solar-powered vehicles are also produced in this factory.”
A similar statement was made by the Governor of Anambra State, who was represented by the State’s Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, who said that the state is preparing to address the problems that Nigerians are now facing as a result of the removal of subsidies.
