Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has warned that any government appointee who convenes meetings without his authorization will be dismissed.
Fubara issued the warning on Thursday during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Secretary to the State Government, Dr Dagogo Wokoma, and the Chief of Staff, Barrister Sunny Ewule.
The ceremony was held at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House.
The governor stressed that the appointments were made to advance the state’s development agenda and not to create problems or serve as instruments of political patronage.
He also reminded Permanent Secretaries approaching retirement to prepare their handover notes to ensure seamless transitions in the civil service.
