Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Pleads Not Guilty to Sex Trafficking Charges, Released on $10 Million Bond

A defense attorney entered a not guilty plea on Friday on behalf of Michael Jeffries, the former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO, who faces charges of sex trafficking and 15 counts of interstate prostitution. Jeffries’ wife and son were present in court and signed off on a $10 million bond secured by his New York home. Under the terms of his release, Jeffries will remain on home confinement with electronic monitoring and is prohibited from contacting co-defendants, witnesses, or victims.

Another attorney entered a not guilty plea for James Jacobson, who is accused of recruiting models that Jeffries and his partner, Matthew Smith, allegedly trafficked and coerced into sex acts. Jacobson was released on a $500,000 bond.

The next court appearance for the defendants is scheduled for December 12. Meanwhile, Smith has not yet had his arraignment date set. During an earlier appearance in Florida, Smith agreed to remain in custody while reserving the right to apply for bail at a later time.
