FG Reaffirms Commitment to Renewable Energy, Woos Global Investors

The Federal Government has restated its commitment to advancing renewable energy through strategic partnerships with local and international firms.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, disclosed this in Abuja while receiving a delegation from KF Manufacturing Company, Guangzhou, China, led by its Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Bruce Zheng.

Akume stressed that renewable energy is central to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery and sustainability plan, noting that Nigeria cannot afford to lag in the global shift to clean energy.

“The Federal Government is opening its doors to genuine local and foreign companies with the capacity and technology to drive renewable energy projects across the country. This partnership will go a long way to promote efficient power for people, industries, and domestic uses,” he said in a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the SGF.

He added that the administration is creating a more conducive business environment by abolishing multiple foreign exchange systems and multiple taxation, reforms he said are designed to ease investment and support small and medium enterprises.

In his remarks, Mr. Zheng noted that many Nigerian institutions are yet to fully embrace renewable energy. He affirmed KF Manufacturing’s readiness to collaborate with Nigeria in expanding access to clean, safe energy, citing the company’s production of eco-friendly solar panels, batteries, and inverters aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels and safeguarding the environment.
