Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against pursuing a meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump, following Trump’s recent threats against Nigeria.
Speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association conference in Akure, Ondo State, Fani-Kayode described Trump as “irrational, unpredictable, and unbalanced,” alleging that he harbours “a pathological hatred for Africans, black and brown people, and Muslims.”
He warned that any engagement could risk “embarrassment” for the Nigerian president, citing media reports suggesting Tinubu was seeking an audience with Trump. Fani-Kayode further likened Trump’s behaviour to a “Demastic anointing,” a Pentecostal term referring to materialistic obsession inspired by the biblical figure Demas.
