Emir Of Kano Urges Govt: Harness Tech To Curb Insecurity

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, urged Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovations, and Digital Economy, to utilize technology in apprehending those responsible for insecurity.

The Emir made this plea during the minister’s visit to his palace yesterday, emphasizing the need to trace and halt criminal activities like kidnapping and terrorism facilitated by technology. He said, “We thank God for meeting you today. This is our first meeting since you became minister, we pray for God’s guidance for you and hope you will do your best to deliver accordingly.

“I wish to extend my best wishes to His Excellency the President and call on you to support the President, Bola Ahmad Tinubu, to achieve his plans of developing the country.
“There are modern ways by which you can use technology to resolve the problems of kidnapping, banditry and other crimes. The ministry should initiate methods by which technology can be used to resolve this problem. “Technology should play a very important role in the provision of security to the people which should be part of the task ahead for you,” the emir stated.

The minister, in his speech, assured the emir that the president had mandated them to leverage technology for the nation’s development, pledging their utmost efforts to achieve success in this endeavor.
