Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has dismissed as false reports claiming that he has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

A close aide to El-Rufai told Channels Television that the rumors were unfounded, emphasizing that a prominent political figure like the former governor would have publicly announced any such move.

El-Rufai also took to his verified X (formerly Twitter) account to refute the claims, urging the public to ignore the “patent lies” regarding his political affiliation. He further revealed that he had referred those spreading the false rumors to his lawyers for legal action.

“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” El-Rufai wrote on Sunday.
