Ekiti Governor Celebrates Kayode Fayemi at 60, Hails His Legacy

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has described his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, as a role model, mentor, and a pillar of support whose contributions continue to shape governance and development in the state.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji praised Fayemi’s lasting impact on public service, referring to him as a reformist and pacesetter. The governor congratulated him on his 60th birthday, acknowledging his legacy of integrity, service, and leadership.

Fayemi, who served as Governor of Ekiti State from 2010-2014 and 2018-2022, as well as Minister of Mines and Steel Development, turns 60 on February 9. Oyebanji commended Fayemi’s dedication to democracy, highlighting his role in Nigeria’s return to civilian rule in 1999 and his achievements as a two-term governor, federal minister, and former chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.

The governor expressed gratitude for Fayemi’s continued commitment to Ekiti’s development and prayed for his long life, good health, and renewed energy for further service to the state and nation.

“On behalf of my wife, Olayemi, the government, and the people of Ekiti State, I congratulate this great leader and illustrious son of our Land of Honour on his diamond jubilee,” Oyebanji said.
