Eight New Police Commissioners have been appointed and deployed to state commands across the country with the approval of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
This was made known to newsmen on Friday.
The Commission applauded Kayode Egbetokun, the Acting Inspector General of Police, for following its most recent policy on gender sensitivity in his suggestion.
The Commission did however request that the IGP add more officers from the North East and South East geopolitical zones who have not yet reached the standard of 15% as established at its most recent Plenary Meeting.
The newly appointed State Commissioners of Police are; Godwin Aghaulor now CP Borno State Command; Adelesi E. Oluwarotimi, CP kwara State Command; Adebola Ayinde Hamzat, CP Oyo State Command; Augustina Ogbodo, CP Ebonyi State Command and Samuel Titus Musa, CP Kebbi State Command.
Others include Alamatu Abiodun Mustapha , CP Ogun State Command, Stephen Olarewaju ,CP Imo State Command, and Aderemi Olufemi Adeoye , CP Anambra State Command.
Dr. Solomon Arase, the chairman of the commission, praised the acting Inspector General of Police for including women in the posts and deemed them to be generally fair.
