EFCC Successfully Secures Alison Madueke’s Arrest Warrant

Diezani Alison-Madueke
On Monday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed that it had obtained an arrest warrant for Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources.
Dele Oyewale, the commission’s acting spokesperson, confirmed the development to newsmen.
Additionally, the EFCC disclosed that it had started the extradition process to send the former minister back to Nigeria.
The commission stated, “It is instructive to note that criminality is criminality, irrespective of jurisdictional differences. No crime can go unpunished.
“The money laundering charges for which Madueke is answerable to the EFCC cover jurisdictions in Dubai, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Nigeria.
“To bring the former minister to trial in Nigeria, an arrest warrant has been obtained, and extradition proceedings have been initiated. The commission is on course on her trial. She will soon have her day in our courts.”
A few hours before the announcement, Alison-Madueke was arraigned at the Westminister’s Court in London, United Kingdom, on charges of alleged bribery.
Despite the fact that the 13-count money laundering allegations the EFCC had brought against her were not included in the accusations that were submitted against her at the London court.
