The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has unveiled a nationwide fuel distribution initiative set to commence on August 15, 2025, aimed at stabilising the supply and reducing the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel across Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the refinery announced the deployment of 4,000 new CNG-powered tankers to deliver petroleum products free of logistics charges to major consumers including marketers, telecom operators, manufacturers, aviation stakeholders, and petrol station dealers.
“This national initiative aims to cut logistics costs, lower fuel prices, revitalise dormant petrol stations, create jobs, and expand energy access to rural and underserved areas,” the statement read.
The bold move aligns with the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude policy and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which targets improved energy access and sustainable economic growth.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
- Free nationwide delivery of PMS and diesel.
- Direct supply to large-scale consumers and industrial users.
- Two-week credit window for bulk buyers of at least 500,000 litres, backed by a bank guarantee and optional access to an extra 500,000 litres.
- Stakeholder registration and KYC process opens from June 16 to August 15, 2025.
- Phased rollout supported by over 100 mobile CNG tankers and CNG refueling stations for last-mile delivery.
The refinery stated that the initiative is designed to reduce inflation, support SMEs, stimulate rural energy access, and boost investor confidence in Nigeria’s petroleum downstream sector.
“This programme reflects our commitment to enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability, and supporting Nigeria’s economic development,” the company added.
Commissioned in 2024, the 650,000 bpd Dangote Refinery is Africa’s largest single-train refining facility and is set to play a transformative role in the continent’s energy landscape.
