The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to decisively tackle terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats.
Shaibu made the remarks at the 75th Army Headquarters Departments and Commands West African Social Activities (WASA) in Abuja, marking the end of the 2025 training year. He described the army as professional, adaptable, and combat-ready, emphasizing that peace and security are vital for national development.
“Our soldiers have consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment in the fight against terrorism and internal security threats… We shall crush the terrorists wherever our nation requires,” he said.
Shaibu also highlighted the importance of troop welfare under his “Soldier-First Culture,” noting that motivated soldiers are essential for operational success. He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, and other Service Chiefs for their support and cooperation.
